An alternate route part II : A wet and muddy affair

    What kind of tires were you running on the bike?

    Yeah, 800 pounds is going to be a bit rough in that mud, and I learned the same lesson myself a couple of times. I'm glad it worked out for you.

    I believe they were a set of off-road oriented Kenda's. I had them mounted just prior to crossing the border. The price was right, however, the wear characteristics left something to be desired, and I had to replace them in southern Ecuador.
